Do I need to repair a small crack right away? |

Besides being a structural
component of a modern automobile, the windshield is also part of the safety
system. For instance, the passenger side airbag deploys by rebounding off

airbag’s effectiveness is greatly reduced. |

Is the glass in a windshield different than the other window glass? |
|

Windshields are made of
two pieces of glass laminated together with a layer of vinyl between. In the
event of a collision, it will stay together. Tempered glass is used for the
rear window and side glass. Although it’s strength exceeds that of normal
glass, if it breaks, it shatters into small pieces instead of sharp shards. |
